Picking Up Your Havana Luxe Pups Puppy
Pickup day is one of our favorite days. After weeks of following along through photos and updates, the moment a family finally gets to hold their puppy in person is something we never get tired of witnessing. We put a great deal of care into making pickup a warm, unhurried experience, and we want every family to leave feeling fully prepared and completely confident.
Here is everything you need to know about pickup at Havana Luxe Pups.
Where We Are Located
We are located in Illinois. When you are ready to schedule pickup, we will provide you with our exact address and any specific directions or notes about finding us. We ask that you reach out in advance to confirm your pickup date and time so we can have everything ready and give you our full attention when you arrive.

What to Expect When You Arrive
We welcome you into our home. You will have the chance to see where your puppy was raised, meet the mother of the litter, and spend time with your puppy before you leave. This is not a quick handoff. We want you to have time to ask every question you have thought of and any that come up in the moment. Pickup is a conversation, not a transaction.
We will walk you through your puppy’s paperwork, explain the vaccination schedule and what is due next, review the health guarantee, activate your Trupanion insurance trial, and make sure you understand everything your puppy comes with. We will also talk through the first days at home: what to expect, how to handle the first night, and how to set your puppy up for a smooth transition.
Bringing Children to Pickup
If there are children coming to pickup, wonderful. Our puppies are raised alongside our own children and love meeting kids. Just plan for some time because your children are going to want to stay.
What to Bring
Secure Carrier
A secure, comfortable carrier for the trip home is the main thing you need to bring.
Familiar Scent
A small blanket or towel that you have slept with for a night or two. It smells like you, which is comforting.
Travel Supplies
If you are driving a long distance, bring water and a small bowl for the journey.
We Provide
We will provide a starter bag of food and all of your paperwork.
Preparing Your Home Before Pickup Day
The best pickup days are the ones where the family has already set up their home and does not have to scramble when they get back. Before you come:
Have the crate set up and in its place. Put bedding in it and spend a little time making it feel like a nice spot before your puppy arrives. Have your starter food ready. Know where your puppy’s first outdoor potty trip will be. Remove or secure anything low to the ground in the areas your puppy will have access to: loose cords, small objects, plants that may not be dog-safe, and anything you do not want chewed. Have a plan for your first night.
The more settled and ready your home is, the more quickly your puppy can begin adjusting.

After You Leave
You are not alone once you walk out our door with your puppy. We mean that in the most practical sense. If a question comes up that evening, the next morning, or six months from now, you can call or message us. We are genuinely available, and we genuinely want to hear how your puppy is settling in.
We love the photos. We love the updates. We love hearing the names families choose and seeing the puppies we raised growing up in the homes we placed them in. That connection is one of the best parts of what we do, and it lasts long past pickup day.
We Cannot Wait to Meet You
Pickup day represents the beginning of your journey with your new puppy, but it is also the continuation of a relationship that started the moment you reached out to us. We are excited to welcome you into our home, introduce you to your puppy properly, and send you both off ready for the adventure ahead.
Every pickup is special, and yours will be too.
